About Us

Hello I'm Scott Artal

Scott Artal is a U.S. Army veteran, storyteller, and multi-genre author whose writing bridges raw lived experience with unforgettable fiction. His works include the memoir Fifteen Years Late: A Soldier’s Guide to Surviving PTSD, the powerful Recall Order military thriller series, and The Ybor Boys saga, a gritty historical crime drama written under his pen name J.D. Viento.

Drawing from his own service, personal journey of resilience, and deep love of history and storytelling, Scott writes with honesty, intensity, and heart. His books explore survival, legacy, loyalty, and the human spirit—whether in the battlefield of war, the streets of 1950s Ybor City, or the inner battles of the mind.

Beyond the page, Scott is a co-creator of The Peace Rebellion Movement, alongside his wife, author and coach J.J. Artal. Together, they empower individuals and communities to find healing, freedom, and purpose.

Scott’s mission is simple: to share stories that heal, connect, and endure—stories that shine light into the dark and leave a legacy for generations to come.
